23rd June 2022 (All Day)
‘Reimagining leadership: the potential of place based and collective leadership in the voluntary sector’ will take place on Thursday, 23 June. To be held at The Studio, Birmingham, close to New Street Station: https://studiovenues.co.uk/venues/birmingham/
This is the second workshop on place leadership and the voluntary sector supported by Voluntary Sector Studies Network as part of a longer-term project to understand the relationship between place, collective forms of leadership and the voluntary sector. We invite you to send an abstract (of no more than 200 words) for presentations (we expect to allow around 15-20 minutes each), that unpack the interplay between these three concepts – place, collective leadership and the voluntary sector, and that offer fresh perspectives on the concepts themselves. We are interested in exploring, for example, the processes through which different framings of ‘place’ influence our understanding of the voluntary sector role in collective leadership; or the insights generated about voluntary sector leadership in and of place when we adopt a collective leadership lens. Finally, what explains the variability of place in terms of the expression of leadership, voluntary sector networks, and cross-sector collaboration?
Please send abstracts to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 16 May.
