In this closing section Karl Wilding will reflect on the presentations made during the day, drawing on his broad experience of policy and practice in the voluntary sector.
Karl Wilding, Director of Public Policy
National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)
Karl leads NCVO’s policy, research, media and public affairs and international relations teams. Karl has lead responsibility for two of NCVO’s strategic aims, championing the voluntary sector, and connecting people and organisations.
Karl was previously NCVO’s head of policy and research. He joined NCVO in 1998. Karl speaks and writes widely on the big issues facing the voluntary sector, such as transparency and accountability, funding and finance, and the relationship between digital technology and social action. He is an active contributor to NCVO’s foresight programme which aims to identify up-and-coming issues that will shape the voluntary sector. Karl blogs about the big issues facing voluntary organisations and regularly shares voluntary sector news and insight via Twitter.
Outside of NCVO, Karl is a non-executive director of Charity Bank, a trustee of US voluntary organisation, Creating the Future, a trustee of St Albans Centre for Voluntary Service, and an Honorary Visiting Fellow at Cass Business School’s Centre for Charity Effectiveness. Previously Karl was vice-chair of the Charities Evaluation Services and a trustee of the Association of Research in the Voluntary and Community Sector.
