This paper analyses the key aspects of a crisis that beset an apparently effective and well-regarded third sector training provider. It describes how management responded to this crisis and assesses the efficacy of its actions. Finally – from the experience of two tumultuous years
– the article attempts to draw lessons and offer guidance on how to interpret the early signs of potentially multilayered and sometimes intractable problems that can easily lead to organisational collapse.
