CALL FOR ABSTRACTS for the New Researchers' Session, 5th September (afternoon) 2007Joanna Machin, Research Officer, Institute for Volunteering Research writes on behalf of the VSSN new researchers group Are you relatively new to the field of research on issues relating to the voluntary sector and/or volunteering? Then this session could be of interest to you. As part of the annual NCVO/VSSN Researching the Voluntary Sector Conference 2007, a special session will again be run for "new" researchers. The session (which has now run for the last four years) is aimed at those who are relatively new to the field of voluntary sector research, whether as post-graduate students or researchers in the sector. It is a great opportunity to meet, discuss research and share ideas with other researchers. If you would like to present in this session please send an abstract of 200 to 400 words to joanna.machin@volunteeringengland.org by March 9th 2007. Presentations are typically 10 minutes long with a further 10 minutes for discussion. You need not discuss a completed project - discussion of a work in progress or preliminary findings would be welcome. Papers on methodologies or issues faced carrying out research are also welcome. If your paper is accepted into the session you will be notified by March 23rd 2007. There is no need to submit a full paper when presenting in the New Researchers' Session, although those who want to are encouraged to do so. Delegates attending only the New Researcher session may do so free of charge, just please let us know that you are coming by emailing joanna.machin@volunteeringengland.org If you would like to attend other sessions in the main conference as well you will need to register as normal. This will be possible after March 23rd by visiting http://www.ncvo-vol.org.uk/research/events/ If you have any questions about the New Researchers' Session please contact joanna.machin@volunteeringengland.org or 0207 520 8911.
