Getting around

We've tried to make it easy to navigate our Web site. Follow the links in the menu on the left hand side of the page, or the "Previous", "Up" and "Next" buttons at the foot of each page. Use the Search facility to find something specific quickly. Look at the site map if you get lost.

Technology needed

To view this site, we recommend Internet Explorer. We will be working on browser compatibility later. We have not yet tested this site for accessibility, but again will be working on this later.

Hosting

This Web site is hosted, using Microsoft FrontPage Web server extensions, by 123-reg.co.uk.

Status and future developments

This site has been running since 2004 but (in mid 2009, finally!) is now being prepared for a major upgrade - see news 26/07/09.

Historically (2004) we wrote on this page "The main aims of www.vssn.org.uk is to support our membership drive as a new organisation, and to provide a resource for members. It has been been constructed using 'quick and dirty' authoring/publishing methods using an "evolutionary prototyping" approach to development, in line with VSSN's organisational development. Our commitment to sustainability means we are deliberately avoiding anything too complex that we cannot maintain with current resources.

"Future developments already planned include:-

• Accessibility and browser compatibility measures
• Secure e-payments facility for donations etc
• Member login and online access to membership directory database
• Re-design/redevelopment using content management facilities

"In the meantime, we are developing the content slowly but surely, and continue to review progress periodically."
