This week, members of VSSN received copies of the first issue of the Network’s new journal, Voluntary Sector Review (VSR), published by The Policy Press. We have already received very positive feedback, which indicates that we are on track to establish the journal as the premier outlet for high-quality peer-reviewed papers on third sector research, policy and practice. The details of the contents of the first issue are available here.

VSR is a member benefit. If would like to become a member, you can join online. Details about subscribing to the journal without joining VSSN is available on The Policy Press website.

Please also ask your institution’s library to subscribe. The Policy Press are offering institutions a free online subscription to Volume 1 at present – not to be missed.

You will find a flyer for the journal here. Why not print some copies to display or give to potential subscribers? If instead you would like some print copies of the flyer, please email VSReditor@vssn.org.uk with the address to send them to and the number you require.

I also encourage you to submit your own work for consideration by the editorial team. We invite academic articles (8,000 words), practice pieces and policy reviews (both 2,000 words). All are, of course, subject to rigorous peer-review. The call for papers can be found on the journal page of the website.

VSSN is grateful to The Policy Press for the enthusiasm and expertise they have brought to this venture, and the resources they are devoting to making it a success.
